Fishing Kids is a Toronto fishing summer day camp for boys and girls between the ages of 8 to 14. Each day we explore beautiful and fascinating fishing locations right here in the GTA. Treat your child to this amazing urban nature experience!

Catfish

Topham Pond - Eglinton Flats

8:30-9:00am: Drop-off at Topham Pond

9:00-10:00 am: Teach Safe and Fun Fishing

10:00-11:00 am: Learn to Rig Your Lines

11:00-12:00 pm: How to safely handle fish, take pictures and release

12:00-12:30 pm: Lunch

12:30-1:00 pm: How to Target: Catfish

1:00-3:45 pm: Fishing

4:00 pm: Pick-up at Topham Pond

Rainbow Trout

  • Teach skills patiently. Kids learn by doing, so don't do everything for them
  • Be a good eco-citizen. Don't Litter, follow the fishing regulations.
  • Keep it simple

FAQ's

  • Does my child need a fishing license?: No, You don’t need to buy a licence for anyone 17 years and under.
  • Are you on a boat?: No, we fish from shore. It gives the kids more of a chance to explore move around. Shore fishing is great for exploring and catching fish.
  • Do you release the fish?: Yes, we practice catch and release
  • What do I need to bring? Bring a littlerless lunch and 2 snacks, appropriate attire for weather (rain or shine event), hat, fishing rod (can be supplied for extra charge) and  Sunscreen.

  • Build Confidence: Kids set goals and achieve objectives.
  • Make Fishing Buddies: Fishing is notorious for helping people build lifelong friendships. 
  • Develop New Skills: Fish continue to surprise even the most seasoned anglers. There is always something new to learn and ways to improve.
  • Connect with Nature: If you need an excuse to get outside, this is it.

We at FishingKids.ca, believe that the world is a better place when kids experience fishing. For many, it will become a way for them to stay active, appreciate and respect nature or simply bond with friends and family.  Toronto has incredible natural resources that have largely been ignored for far too long. Fishing is one of the best ways to get people using and protecting those resources.
